Wedding Ceremony Packages F.A.Q.

NOTE: If your wedding has special requirements, such as contracting outside vendors or services, it is our suggestion that you contract a personal wedding coordinator in addition to the on-site wedding coordinator.

What services does your wedding planner provide? Is there a fee?
There is no fee for the use of our basic wedding coordinator. The specialist will assist you prior to and on your special day.

How many days do we need to arrive prior to the civil ceremony?
Mexico requires that you be in the country at least three full business days prior. Saturdays, Sundays, and Mexican holidays do not count. Your arrival day also does not count toward the business day requirement. (Minister Ceremony requires only one business day prior the ceremony.)

What is the difference between legal (civil), religious and symbolic ceremonies?
Only a civil ceremony is legally recognized. A religious ceremony has no legal bearing and does not replace the binding legal civil marriage. A renewal of vows or religious ceremony is a symbolic ceremony and is performed by a non-denominational minister (please note that Catholic ceremonies cannot be performed outside the church).

Do we need to send any documentation prior to arrival?
Yes. All legal documentation must be sent at least two weeks in advance to verify all information. Also, you must have all originals with you when you arrive at the resort.

What about guests not staying at the resort?
Guests who chose to come only for the event will have to purchase a day pass.

What do you offer in the way of decorations?
The basic wedding ceremony decorations are: huppah with white fabric and white folding chairs or banquet chairs wtih white chair covers. Extra decorations are available at additional cost and are made to the bride’s liking. Please discuss this with your wedding coordinator.

Most guests choose to marry at sunset simply because it is commonly considered the most romantic time of day. However, morning ceremonies are also available and will provide you with special brunch menus and extended free time during the day to pursue other activities.

Is the civil wedding performed in English or Spanish?
Civil ceremonies are performed in Spanish, however, we can provide you a translator for only $40 or we can send you a copy of the ceremony in English and somebody from your party can perform the ceremony in English together with the Judge of the peace. The ceremony is easy and in paragraphs then will be so easy to handle.

If you do not have witnesses available, they will be provided by the resort at no additional cost.

The ceremony lasts about 20 minutes.

What do you do if I schedule an outside ceremony and reception and it rains?
We can move your ceremony into our ballroom or a suite (terrace or ocean view area).

What time is the sunset and the approximate temperature an hour before?
